Produced in Nakanosawa Onsen, Fukushima Prefecture, these Kokeshi dolls have bold, tattoo-like peony designs and red around their eyes, like Kabuki makeup,
often called “Tako Bozu Kokeshi.” Originally part of the Tsuchiyu style,
their uniqueness made them their own category, the Nakanosawa style, in 2018.
