Produced in Hijiori Onsen, Yamagata Prefecture, also found in places like Sendai.
These Kokeshi, created during the Meiji period, are a blend of the Naruko and Togatta styles. Their bodies are painted yellow and decorated with chrysanthemum and dianthus patterns. Known for being from the most mountainous area, they depict the serene beauty of a maiden from a rustic hot spring spot.
